The Benefits Of Google+ For Your Business

The Benefits Of Google+ For Your Business

Everybody knows Facebook and Twitter but not all people know that Google since 2011 has its own social network, Google+. To use Google plus you need to have a Google account (gmail). If you already have a gmail, then you also have a google+ account, look for the + sign next to your name in the top right corner.

I understand that Google+ does not necessarily come with the best adrenaline other social media platforms come with, yet its impact on many businesses’ performances can not be ignored.

Like Facebook, Google+ can be used for both personal and business use. If you choose to use Google plus for business, you need to first create a personal google plus account and then a google plus business page for your business.

Despite the unpopularity Google+ has been experiencing lately, there is no doubt it has many benefits for businesses. The followings are some of the advantages:

1. It’s good for local SEO– Local businesses have many more reasons to use Google+ since it’s a great way to provide Google with more details about your local business such as location, contact details, services offered etc. When you do everything correctly your will get a nice snippet with information about your business on the right side of Google when someone searches for your business name.

2. It’s good for Google SEO – Google may officially deny that social signals are used for rankings (and that includes their social network as well) but in my opinion the more information they have about a webpage (especially about businesses that sell online), the better is for that business because it helps in establishing trust which is one of the factors why a website may rank better than others.

3.It’s good for your brand and online reputation– Businesses that do not fall in the category of local businesses i.e. they do not serve customers in a physical location are considered as brands.

Brands can also get their company information in the right hand of Google if they have a Google+ Business page with more than 1000 followers that is updated with high quality posts related to their niche

4.It’s good for your adwords campaigns– When you run campaigns on adwords and you have a Google plus business page with more than 100 followers and updated content, adwords may show your number of followers and +1s in your ad and this will drive more interaction and attention.

Relevance Of Being Recognisable Using Hashtag On Facebook

Relevance Of Being Recognisable Using Hashtag On Facebook

Facebook is also making hashtags searchable, even if they originate on different services, such as Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Google+ and Instagram. From the Hashtag feed you can also compose posts directly.

Here’s one unique information about hashtag, anyone can make anything into a hashtag by adding a # in front of a word, acronym or phrase with no spaces. On Facebook, this is no different. As soon as you use the # symbol a blue box will appear over your tag. Then click Post. Your tag will appear in bold within your status update.

Facebook is tracking those hashtags people are using, after putting your post up, you can always click on your new tag to see who else is using that same phrase and what they are saying. Every hashtag on Facebook has its own unique URL.

Unlike Twitter or Instagram where most users’ profiles are public, Facebook users have private profiles. Thus, the hashtags most people use on their posts are not discoverable to the public and are therefore limited to the people they know. Because of this, most public hashtags belong to influencers or brands.

Discovering hashtags and related content on Facebook is quite simple, I believe the below tips would help a lot.

How to discover hashtags and related content on Facebook:

  • Click on a hashtag to see related posts: by clicking on a hashtag you will be allowed to see related post and that cold make your goal easier and better.
  • Search using the search bar: Hashtags on Facebook previously were not recognized, but now they are. By clicking the word you want to view in the search bar, you will be open to seeing the information you want. This was formerly not recognisable as being expressed earlier but now they are, for everyone’s satisfaction.

Now you are aware of the relevance of using hashtag on Facebook and how to be recognisable, I do hope you are ready to use this feature to your advantage.

Why You Should Be On Whatsapp

Why You Should Be On Whatsapp

WhatsApp, was incorporated in the year  2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, both former employees of Yahoo. After Koum and Acton left Yahoo! in September 2007, both traveled to South America as a break from work at one point they applied for jobs at Facebook but were rejected. For the rest of the following years Koum relied on his $400,000 savings from Yahoo!. In January 2009, after purchasing an iPhone and realizing that the App Store would soon create an industry of apps, Koum started visiting his friend Alex Fishman in West San Jose, where the three would discuss “… having statuses next to individual names of the people”, but this was not possible without an iPhone developer. Interestingly, Fishman found a Russian developer on Freelancers Igor Solomennikov, and introduced him to Koum. Koum then named the app “WhatsApp” to sound like “what’s up”. In continuation, on February 24, 2009, he incorporated WhatsApp Inc. in California. However, because early versions of WhatsApp often crashed or got stuck at a particular point, Koum felt like giving up and looking for a new job, upon which Acton encouraged him to wait for a “few more months”.
